The planet will fall apart if a bunch of hysterical nitwits can’t seize control of the government.
The Catastrophe of Climate Change Skepticism
Unlike in politics or painting, when it comes to climate change, the opinions of laypersons are not relevant.
In the face of another diplomatic disappointment in Cancun’s climate change talks, we approach the end of the hottest year on record. While experts again try to ring alarm bells, our media still gives voice to the pseudo-intellectual pursuit of climate skepticism. Perhaps while Rome burned, some bravely questioned the finer qualities of fire. Perhaps on Easter Island, as the last trees fell, some elders courageously debated the necessity of wood.
Today, our own Margaret Wente and Rex Murphy sing in tune with the likes of Glenn Beck, sincerely believing their skepticism to be a form of intellectual virtue. It is not.
One word: Hubris
I prefer my one word, created expressly for what these watermelons drip: gaiarrhea.
Given that the next article was by Fidel Castro, I’m not holding my breath that these idiots will achieve anything. However they are not alone in calling for sceptics to be sidelined by force, if necessary. In the past that sort of thing was possible because people with alternative views cold be isolated.
Now we have the internet 🙂
Have you noticed how many obnoxious people all support the global warming side. Prince Charles, Al Gore, Hollywood types, Green Peace, Osama Bin Laden, Monbiot, Cameron, Clegg, Prescott, Brown, Blaire, Briggstock, the list goes on.
Which is why I never bought into it, when the loons of the world latch on to something I know it can’t be a real serious issue.
It’s a growth opportunity for climate change fear-mongers and other scam artists, all looking to make money from the climate apocalypse industry.
A persons title, education or experience means nothing in respect of whether or not something they say is true, or will even become true. Hansen and other alarmists prove that time and time again.
Whose afraid of the big, bad wolf, especially when the wolf is hibernating due to the cold!

This is just Gaia worship in the brave new secular world, I suspect largely because most town-dwellers are lucky if street lighting lets them see more than a dozen stars at night. Switch it all off so we can see glorious heavens …!
“Skepticism becomes a vice when applied to a broad consensus of expert opinion warning of existential danger.”
Existential. Golly.
Now I’m worried. I had no idea the danger was existential.
Another useful idiot.
