“A DfE spokeswoman said it is very unlikely any school is still using this educational pack containing An Inconvenient Truth..”

    Thank god for that..

“..because teachers are warned on the website that this is old teaching material and could be out-of-date”

..but Al told us that the “science is settled”. How on Earth can it be out of date?

It is a tough one. How are parents to find out what movies have been shown to their children in school? How many teachers will go public these days to admit they have used a ‘scary movie’ that they might well suspect will now be exposed as absurd and misleading? How many of the CO2-campaigners are now coming to think that their scare tactics were misguided, have backfired, and should be quietly forgotten?

I have some thoughts from yesterday in a post here: http://climatelessons.blogspot.com/2011/02/end-to-government-scaring-of-children.html

My two boys seen the Al Gore movie in two different Irish schools.
We, the parents, were not asked.

The propoganda is far more subtle than that.

It is clear that pupils are taught that AGW is a fact and their marks will be reduced if they stray from this message as the following revision link makes clear.

Another course which seems to have lifted page after page of alarmism from the BBC’s website.

This site is interesting. It seems to be a network for teachers run by Edexcel ( they are one of the exam boards who run the GCSE system).

Many teachers on the forum are clearly using the tutorial mentioned above ( Slideshare) are have been busy recommending it to each other.
