Can GISS Adjust Temperatures Upwards By 25 Degrees?

Maybe UHI adjustments will do the trick.

    Related numbers game:

record low approval for Presidents handling of money means record highs

27% of Americans approve of Obama on the deficit….. while 68% disapprove.

Oh, wait, wait……. that’s 68% disapprove. So what? Everything’s fine for him.

    ;O)

It’s disapprovalapproval like coldhot global warming. He’s sure to get re-elected next year just like global warming is surely happening.

      ;O)

  2. Amino Acids in Meteorites says:

Come on, all this year they’re going to say La Nina is making it look like global warming isn’t happening in 2011. I see it coming already. They don’t need no stinkin adjustments!

Who needs food anyway. Corn is best used to ruin you car engine (or for getting drunk and forget about being hungry).

ST. LOUIS (AP) — U.S. reserves of corn have hit their lowest level in over 15 years in part because of higher demand from the ethanol industry, reflecting tighter supplies that will lead to higher food prices in 2011.

No doubt. WUWT just carried an article about food shortages. I was gobsmacked to see many commentators there that believe ethanol isn’t adversely effecting world food supply…………… In spite of my providing links that show a 3 billion bushel increase in demand for corn directly caused by ethanol production in this country alone.

Naw, no way that would effect world food supply………….

      • Mike Davis says:

Just because the farmers grow what produces the best return and they were guaranteed a good return for corn so they stopped growing other cereal crops. It affects the price for livestock food. Some of my neighbors reduced their herds to what they can feed of their own land.

      • suyts says:

To be sure, were I a farmer, I’d be farming corn in the proper rotation, but these policies are killing us. Well, not us, its just making us poorer, its killing people in 3rd world nations.

    • suyts says:

I did a test on my Dodge Ram pickup with ethanol vs. reg. unleaded. I had a 30% drop in fuel efficiency with a 10% ethanol mix. By using the ethanol, I actually bought more oil derived gas. How’s that for a kick in the pants? It was suppose to make us less dependent on foreign oil, but instead it causes more dependency…….. at least in my case. The results of the test will vary from vehicle to vehicle, but I’d like to see a comprehensive one done. I suspect the end results would be more consumption of oil derived gasoline.

More people will die from this rise in prices. Global warming—killing people, but not how you’d think.

Once again this map shows my area 5-10 degrees above normal while we have actually been just below normal for the week.

  5. NoMoreGore says:

All this warmcold and I’m breaking a sweat. Well, or it could be I’ve got the heat turned up too much because it’s so damn cold outside.

Now is a good time to own a farm. And to separate yourself from the grid:

If the warmers manage to rack energy prices into the sky, just get one of these:

Don’t worry. They will simply throw out the insignificant states of Texas and New Mexico from their data set and make up the rest.

  7. j blackford says:

These things will not hurt the presidents election chances in 2012, because they are monkeying with the electoral college to guarantee that California and new york, the states with the most population, are the only places that will matter for presidential elections in the future, I have been hearing it on talk radio and no one seams to be opposing this attack on our system that helps keep our election of the president of the United States of America elected by the states and not by mob decision as in is done in other lass advanced countries such as, Russia Iraq, Iran, etc…..

  8. Lowell says:

Temps in northern Wisconsin during the 2/1 thru 2/8/11 time period have not been above normal as shown in the graphic. They have been well below normal.

  9. John T says:

No need for UHI effect. The stations in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico are unreliable, so they can’t be used. We then interpolate between southern Florida and northern California to fill in for the missing data. When done properly, we find that those areas have actually warmed more than any of the surrounding regions.
