The mean January temperature in Philadelphia was 28F, which was colder than all of the LIA (Little Ice Age) years listed above. More proof that cold is the new hot.

The Little Ice Age is probably overstated in the US.
There was more of a Little Ice Age in the 1960s and 1970’s. There were also extremely cold winters in the 1980’s. There were more severe Florida citrus freezes between 1977 and 1989 than the whole rest of the of the 20th Century. The industry was forced to abandon the big producing areas north of Orlando.
In 1900, most of the citrus was grown around Jacksonville. As CO2 increased, the industry kept moving south!
