After setting record lows last week, we set a record high yesterday. I blame both the bitter cold and yesterday’s Chinook down slope warming, on excess heat trapped in the atmosphere by emissions from your incandescent light bulb and pickup truck.
Some apologies are in order from you people who are not driving a Prius.
This is a classic!!!!

First I didn’t know Australia’s records are 500 years old when the first fleet arrived in 1778.
Secondly, wasn’t Darwin destroyed in 1974 by cyclone Tracey, they already forgot about that even in their 500 year record
LOL LOL LOL!!!
Evidence of prior floods can be gleaned by geological study.
It’s complete BS anyway.. Ask them about Helen and George.
Geological study. So why do we use weather charts 150 years old for Climate temperature, but when it comes to floods its 500 years that’s ok.
BTW looks like its rained before in Darwin

How about that…the old record was set around 30 years ago (1 PDO cycle).
The temperatures have been a bouncing ball lately. In DC they are predicting 70 on President’s Day (Monday) and a blizzard with temps falling into the 20s Monday night.
So the high temp record has nothing to do with the Stevenson screen set in the midst of the Ft. Collins Air Force runways? Nah, can’t be related. 1° F record? Wow, one whole degree. Using a ±5° accuracy UHI station?
The weather station is actually right next to a parking lot on the CSU campus. When we get Chinooks, UHI is not a factor.
Remember Dr. Richard Keene’s charts? The 1930s had the most highs AND the most Lows as I recall… Veddy interestink.
