Is The Glass 99% Full Or Is The Mind 99% Empty?

During the 1920s, the Arctic warmed dramatically – causing people to speculate about an ice free Arctic. But note the difference in tone –

They described it as “a wonderful climatic alteration.”

90 years later, alarmists speculate about the same thing – but now the mindset is different. In 2007, the NASA administrator Michael Griffin questioned if there was any reason to be concerned about global warming, and suggested that it might even improve the climate.

This lead to a predictable angry response from NASA’s own prince of darkness –

Griffin’s comments—released in transcript form by NPR—immediately drew stunned reaction from James Hansen, NASA’s top climate scientist at the Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York.

“It’s an incredibly arrogant and ignorant statement,” Hansen told ABC News. “It indicates a complete ignorance of understanding the implications of climate change.”

Hansen believes Griffin’s comments fly in the face of well-established scientific knowledge that hundreds of NASA scientists have contributed to.

“It’s unbelievable,” said Hansen. “I thought he had been misquoted. It’s so unbelievable.”

A fundamental precept of Hansen’s religion is that a colder climate is a better climate. Which is why everyone takes their winter vacations in Winnipeg.

Change the word knowledge to dogma and Hansen would have gotton one right after all.

Griffin commented on that quite a while later and basically said he’s just going to keep his head down from now on. He should have fired Hansen then.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, send all the warmists to cold locations around the world until they cry “uncle”.

Sort of like that item about the eagles falling dead out of the sky in Canada…. No allowance for the possibility that the exceptionally long & cold winter in BC & Alberta might have anything to do with it. No, it’s “global warming.”
