  1. Dave N says:

“What they hope to do over the next two years is keep the spotlight on the scientific reality of climate change, marshalling newer and stronger sets of data..”

If they’re so sure about the problem, why do they need to do that?

    • Latitude says:

but Dave, according to them, this is the most comprehensive paper ever…..

..and not a word about facts

      …like cold causes bleaching too
bleaching is a normal response for corals, because their dinos have not evolved to take the temps swings that the corals can.

So they just shed them (bleach) and pick up a new wet of dinos/zoox

It’s common twice in year in some areas, we call it winter and summer……….

  2. Andy Weiss says:

If they know what the data sets are going to show, why waste time and money to do the research?

  3. gofer says:

What did you expect them to say…”The corals are just fine and in no danger.”? That would be the end of funding. No more govt. cash flows. That’s why they must continue to study and monitor the situation from now until eternity or until they can construct a new and better scam that will attract even more money.

  4. Mike Davis says:

Research long ago became about “Research”, it was not about discovery, not about doing science, not about finding cause or cure! Plain and simple: Research is about doing “Research”! If they have not decided the outcome they want to “Prove” they find another “Cause” they can manufacture an outcome to find through “Research”. The field does not matter as maybe one out of five research projects are doing real scientific research and that is probably generous!

  5. Bill Gannon says:

Does anybody know what the PH of the oceans are? Just read an article in “Terra” from Oregon State. Talked about the coral bleaching and gave a pH of 7.5 and if I remember science from high school, that would be neutral.
