I never use the Met Office as my lead scientific adviser, I look out of the window.
I work in the power industry, and forecasting the weather is important to us, as we nned to be able to trade with a good knowledge of plant output on a daily basis. Needless to say, we do not use the Met office for this data.

Who would have guessed that the dull and stodgy old Met Office of 30 years ago would turn into such a source of succour for political adventurism?
There is a “Sucker Born Every Minute” and these people are living proof.
They actually think this is a good selling point. Words fail me, these people are thick.
