We just failed to realize he is the prophet. I chalk it up to cynicism.
We all know he is a Prophet! Like other prophets throughout history he does not know when his prophesy will be fulfilled. I would guess the warming and flooding he is talking about will happen in about 90,000 years at the end of the Glacial Maximum we are slowly sliding into!
