In 1986 the ice was caused by cold, but now it is caused by heat. An additional 0.00003 mole fraction CO2 has changed the fundamental properties of water.

I thought I just read somewhere that the Baltic was below normal on ice??
That would be the temps.. they have been below normal in that area since at least November. Must be all the Arctic heat causing them.
In 86-87 all of the Baltic Sea was covered, this time it is not so, but there is an unusual amount of ice, the winter here has been bitter, record cold December followed by a rather OK January, but then came February…
Dec-Febr will be close to 2 degree C lower than average 1961-1990 here is Sweden.
In these politically correct times I’m surprised that Sweden did not mothball their ice breakers some time ago and put that extra money into climate change research.
But,……but…….the ice is supposed to be melting! Melting, I tell you!!! Look at what the models say!!!
