   Well, when they take a lie such as “the Maldives are shrinking”, and a lack of understanding that glaciers calve when they’re growing, it is no wonder they might try and attribute it to AGW.

     I’m guessing the “lie” re: the Maldives is actually an “opinion”, however when actual data totally contradicts the opinion, it becomes a case of semantics, especially when someone makes that “opinion” knowingly without checking the data.
