I feel your pain; don’t these (pseudo) scientists know how to make a dramatic point ala Planet of the Apes?
It does however look like we are going to have to wait a while at present rates of sea-level rise…with the Statue of Liberty being 93.47 meters from base to torch (source: http://www.endex.com/gf/buildings/liberty/libertyfacts.htm) and current sea-level rise around NY at something around 3 mm per year; I come up with a half submerged Statue of Liberty in a little over 31,000 years. (source: http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/sltrends/sltrends.shtml).
But wait; what if sea-level rise is actually decreasing in acceleration? (source:http://theinconvenientskeptic.com/2011/02/determining-the-true-acceleration-of-sea-level-rise/).

I think it is beyond the “stupid” comprehension of a critical thinker. Stupid goes to fathoms we can’t imagine.
Was there not earlier testimony about 15 years ago by one of these gentlemen that the East River Drive in NYC would be under water by this time? It does seem they have been crying wolf for some extended period.
There is of course a potential for a flood catastrophe in NYC in the event of a Katrina style hurricane hit, which seems to happen about every 150-200 years, but that exists irrespective of any assumed AGW impacts.

Not Really! They only have to observe the historic records to see possible future scenarios! Extremes happen! Where is the map showing all the land that has been produced to make that island the size it is now! If memory serves the original size was maybe one forth of the current size!
