Travis Gets Second Special Honor Of The Day

Travis responds with :

And if you do the same thing with just GISS and UAH starting from 2003 onward, UAH shows at least double the warming trend that GISS does. Is it a sign of a warming conspiracy by Dr. Roy Spencer, or a global cooling conspiracy being started by those who brought us Climategate? We’ll let the reader decide.

Nice try, Travis. Don’t you have anything better to do?

Now that we know that global warming causes more moisture, more precipitation…
..what with the whole ramped up hydrological cycle thing

  3. Sundance says:

Woods For Trees does not include the January drop to -.01C degrees which when updated will will make the GISS the outlier or outliar is you prefer.

  4. James Hansen must be called before Congress to answer for his data set.

  5. James Hansen’s data set shows even more warming than the data the data set from the corrupt ClimateGate scientists. With something like that happening there MUST be an accounting for why this is happening.

Some people do not know that James Hansen is an environmental activist.

We should have a million dollar winner take all contest about who can count the most angels on the head of a pin within 10 seconds.

Am I missing something here. Travis says

“And if you do the same thing with just GISS and UAH starting from 2003…..

Steve then produces a graph from 1998

  8. Glc says:

    Steve
You are correct. The earth is heating out of control.

    I didn’t say that.

    Also

Travis wanted to measure from la Nina trough to El Nino peak

No he (or she) didn’t. There was an El Nino in 2002/2003.

  9. Anne says:

I have another theory – Glc is just another Alarmist hack who gets their shorts in a knot if you plot from the 1998 El Nino while completely ignoring the fact that this upwards temperature blip is more than offset by the longer duration follow on La Nina!

I checked that out and adjusted to 2003 which results in more warming! According to the so called “EX Perts” such as Pinocchio Phil even 15 years is not enough time to “Properly” determine a trend! That minor issue did not stop Big Jim when he only had 12 years in 1988!
Both Travis and Glc appear to be either “Puppets” or “Sheeple” that represent typical CLB Troll Bots!

      • Mike Davis says:

I use the term “Pinocchio Phil” because during the Climategate inquiry you could see him twitch when his string were manipulated during questioning!

    • Glc says:

I have another theory – Glc is just another Alarmist hack…………

Ahh bless. Someone upsets the back-slappers by pointing out an inconvenient truth and they’re automatically on the side of the devil.

What should be evident from the above comments is that, using short term trends, you can show anything you want.

As far as my position on AGW is concerned. Let’s just say I have a long (proven) history of arguing on RealClimate with Michael Mann, Gavin Schmidt etc. I once posted a comment on Realclimate which forced them to claim that a server ‘glitch’ had had caused a loss of data. More than 6 years ago I challenged Michael Mann about the “hide the decline” issue in the proxy record. t Many of my comments over the past number of years have been cited by various sceptic bloggers including Steve McIntyre (Climate Audit).

However, I don’t accept garbage from whichever side. The world has been warming and, as far as we can tell, is continuing to warm. There is certainly no evidence that it is cooling – despite the (a) weak solar cycle (b) negative PDO (c) La Nina (d) anything else I may have missed. That may change and the world may start to cool. If and when it does – I’ll let you know.

      • Mike Davis says:

        YES DEAR!
However I do not recognized your chosen moniker from any of those sites over the years I have been reading them. If you want to claim the world is warming then you are guilty of “Cherry Picking” because “Long term” climate records indicate an approximate five thousand year cooling trend and the globe has not fully recovered from the Little Ice Age so a short term warming is obvious but is keeping with the long term patterns seen in historical climate!
