I read the comments on the article and am dismayed. So many are utterly convinced that we are all going to die, and any measure taken against anyone who questions the AGW premise is justified. How long will it be before a Lindzen, Curry, Watts, Goddard, Pelkie, etc are executed at a public lecture or meeting?

Myself, I would be wearing a vest when I was in public, even going to the office.

The debate is no longer a debate. Its becoming more like the abortion issue on the part of the AGW proponents. Regardless of your stance, everyone should condem the people and organizations that `shoot the doctors’. I anticipate that it won’t be MD’s getting shot, rather the scientists or other public figures who express ANY skeptical view points publically.

Naw, these people don’t have the juevos to act. Sure, they’ll smear, draw dirty pictures, cry, try to get laws passed, cry, lie, intimidate, cry, assassinate character, protest, and did I mention cry? But, to act on one’s own? Are you kidding me? They wet themselves at the thought of a molecule absorbing some IR! I suspect very few have the fortitude to leave their mother’s basement. Even the protesters they hire look like they haven’t seen the sun in years. They are cowardly leeches which can only insist on their liberties to frighten children.

I would not expect anything less actually. AGW or ACC is more of a faith now, if you speak disparagingly about another’s religion one would expect some kind of retribution, wouldn’t you?

HAve you folks noticed that older people tend to be skeptics while younger people tend to be alarmists. I think this might be because older people have seen this all before in various alternate forms over the years, while younger people have not lived long enough to see these other forms. Just guessing.

    • Jimbo says:

You are correct about young people. The AGW scare started around 1988 and so people around 22 years have only ever know AGW. These people did not live through the other scare nonsense of a pending ice age back in the 1970s.

AGW is a religion and has very little to do with science except Nintendo model runs churning out gigo.

  3. Tokamak says:

It hass long since turned into a cult and cults attract the weak willed, the weak minded and out and out nutters. What is worse is that Hansen is encouraging them. He needs to look to his conscience before someone is hurt. He is a very foolish old man who should know better.

  4. Galvanize says:

Johnny Ball is a legend from my chilhood. His programmes made maths and science actually interesting to kids. He was instrumental in stoking my interest in engineering.

To see him being persecuted by people that don`t have the testicular fortitude to say anything to his face is testament to their cowardice.

  5. truthsword says:

Waitng for TondyD to defend his fellows actions for trying to keep a horrible evil denier from talking to kids… heh… when u have to act like that, you are on the losing side these people must understand this. The most constructive thing a person who really thinks AGW is happening, would be to eliminate from their side of the debate the kinds of people that do these things. The downside would be there would only be one or two AGW believing scientists left if you did, but still.

  6. Andy Weiss says:

There used to be a time when most scientists were highly credible. Now you can’t believe a word anyone says, no matter what their credentials consist of. When and how did this all go so wrong?
