   I do wonder what the exact location is for that picture, and whether this one is closer to the pole:

   Nevertheless, it could still be anecdotal evidence that the pole didn’t have much ice in the early 60’s, maybe even less than now. Note my use of what are normally alarmist weasel words; I figure they should get some of their own back.

       It also claims they walked around the world on the ice. That would indicate they were walking around the Geographical or magnetic North Pole. A point where every direction is South!

       Funny how you are trying to use your own uneducated interpretations of pictures of subs to disprove climate Change, when it’s the data reported from the subs themselves that shows us that the ice has been getting thinner for as long as they have been breaking thru the arctic ice. Maybe rather than putting importance in a caption placed there by a newspaper editor who was not even there, you should look at the data the subs are reporting themselves…
