1977 : Professor Says CO2 Has Saved The Planet From An Ice Age

Volcanoes have more of an effect then thought?
Notice the 180° opposite headline spin applied to this story.
The UPI reporter writes it as a positive (“saved the planet”) whereas today it would be doom and gloom (“innundation of coastal areas”).
Also, 34 years has no elapsed, which is certainly enough time to be able to document some “nortward shift of agricultural belts”, which I would see as a VERY good thing. Has anything moved North even a single inch? Hell no.
Going back further, you would think from 1900 until now, a total 111 years in a period of post-LIA warming, some climate sensitive plant could be demonstrating “nortward shift”! Anyone? Palm trees, Oranges?
If I had to bet money, I would say that if any movement is detected especially in the last few decades, the direction would be south.
