EPA Warns Of Declining Snow Cover, Rising Sea Level, And Blistering Heat In New England

Northeast:

  • Extreme heat and declining air quality are likely to pose increasing problems for human health, especially in urban areas.
  • Agricultural production, including dairy, fruit, and maple syrup, are likely to be adversely affected as favorable climates shift.
  • Severe flooding due to sea-level rise and heavy downpours is likely to occur more frequently.
  • The center of lobster fisheries is projected to continue its northward shift and the cod fishery on Georges Bank is likely to be diminished.
  • The projected reduction in snow cover will adversely affect winter recreation and the industries that rely upon it.

I’m planning on being in Connecticut for another week. The snow is still two feet deep, but temperatures are supposed slip up above freezing sometime this weekend – before the next snow storm hits on Monday.

Aaahhhh the EPA, that bastion of truth and honesty.

  2. The EPA says h2o is pollution too, so…….

  3. suyts says:

That’s hard to reconcile with what the “experts” just came by and told us. Hmm…… Do you think we can get them to publicly refute the EPA? Or did they already?

The new carbon credit market is a virtual repeat of the commodities-market casino that’s been kind to Goldman, except it has one delicious new wrinkle: If the plan goes forward as expected, the rise in prices will be government-mandated. Goldman won’t even have to rig the game. It will be rigged in advance.

Hmmm … “blistering heat in New England”. Where have I heard that before ..?

“From Northern New York to the Mississippi delta, to the northern tip of Idaho, there are “stagnant air,” hot winds, and blistering temperatures, with rivers, creeks, and lakes at a record low level. Large forest fires in New England, Pennsylvania, and Vir ginia, and sporadically throughout the other States, have “baked” the fruit orchards.”

Oh no here we go again, suddenly the models predicted the REDUCED frequency of hurricanes as the world “WARMS” and now this means Bigger hurricanes are coming LOL

    Speaking of pollution. Go here.

Pollution is BULLSHIT. We breath clean air here in the US!
Look esp at Pa., where I live, a large % of our electricity comes from coal, and we are downwind of other heavy coal states like Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. There is some pollution in the major cities, but certainly there are not coal plants located in the metropolitan areas. The air around the coal plants is CLEAN!

I have a friend, who lives in Hawaii (apparently an unfavorable climate), and no mention of dairy farms, apple orchards, or maple syrup producers-how can he possibly stand living in such unVermontlike conditions.

  12. Jeff K says:

Sounds like the Georges Bank cod fishing industry will be replaced by the northern movement of the Maine lobster, and I’m sure L.L. Bean will fill the void in Maine.
