Is Climate Change Happening Faster Than Climate Change Used To Happen?

Scientists have no metrics (or even definitions) for measuring climate change, yet they still seem to be able to determine that unmeasured climate change is happening faster now than unmeasured climate change used to happen.

For example, Joe Romm found one hot day during LA’s coldest summer on record last year, and was able to determine that that was a symptom of the fast “pace” of climate change.

  1. Curt says:

That one day was part of a classic early autumn hot spell in LA, where the cool ocean breezes are kept out. Of all of the many dozens of weather reporting stations in the LA area, only the downtown LA station broke an all-time record.

And it was probably on a roof-top in the blazing sun.

      • Mike Davis says:

It got sooooo hot soooo fast it broke the thermometer and it stopped reporting before the hottest time of day! It could have possibly set and all time WORLD record for Hottest EVAH if the device had not stopped working!
That is “Consistent” with the model projections and was reveled in the IPCC AR4 report so it should have come as no surprise even though it was worse than projected.

Let us pray that this mass insanity will soon be over.

    • Ivan says:

Hard to see any evidence of that. In fact, if anything, the insanity is getting worse.
The following article is probably instructive as to how it will all end:

Brilliant article. I saw it a while ago (on “Haunting the Library”, I think). What worries me is not only are so many elites (and the lemmings that follow them) ready to piss away our freedoms and future in the name of saving the planet, they are actively trying to do so.

“Effective execution of Agenda 21 will require a profound reorientation of all human society, unlike anything the world has ever experienced – a major shift in the priorities of both governments and individuals and an unprecedented redeployment of human and financial resources. This shift will demand that a concern for the environmental consequences of every human action be integrated into individual and collective decision-making at every level.”

“Adopting a central organizing principle means embarking on an all-out effort to use every policy and program, every law and institution, to halt the destruction of the environment.”
