This happened just 20,000 years ago, and caused sea level to rise by 300 feet. Americans were devastated that they could no longer ride their camels to Russia across the Bering Strait. Chicagoans and New Yorkers lamented the loss of their mile thick glacier.
Apparently we need to take CO2 all the way down to 0 ppm.
What’s funny is the rise and fall of CO2 levels can be explained 100% biologically.
Any person that has watched a pond go through it’s cycles of eutrophication could explain it……………..
DRAT! No level is safe. We are doomed!
Silly you Andy, the Goreacle will save us. he has promised us to deliver us from our sins with proper indulgences… 🙂
Obama will lower the oceans – we know because he said so
It happens everytime. At the minimum CO2 forcing (end of a glacial period), there is maximum temperature acceleration (change from very long term cooling to very steep ~10 °C warming) and subsequently, at the end of this warming (interglacial peak) we have maximum CO2 forcing and maximum temperature deceleration (change from very steep warming to long term cooling). Everytime.
Maybe a butterfly in Greenland flapped its wings and changed the world forever.
Scientists drill through 2 kilometers of Greenland ice, find butterflies & lush forests

The Butterflies will do it every time!
I do believe they got antsy a few days ago because it has been windy here today and I have noticed the early Butterflies hanging around! I am waiting for the other species to appear so the will counter these March ones that create all the wind!
I am curious about the impact that dust has just before the end of each glacial period. Anyone have any ideas?
So what’s your point? This ice core graphic is covered off by Milankovitch Cycles.
And if there is a point to be made what has it to do with CO2 at 390 ppm and going through the roof? This world is completely different than the world uncovered in those cores and because of that we can’t derive too much from the trends back then. The physics is the same the conditions are very different.
We should be experiencing slow cooling because the sun has been in a cooling phase for several years now. As well we are in an inter glacial period of slowly cooling temperatures. So where’s the cooling? Over the last 100 years everything should be cooling: ice caps and glaciers getting bigger, oceans cooling, record low temps should statistically outnumber record high temps, land temps slowly cooling …. where is the evidence of cooling???
And if you can put together a 100 year data history of all these things acting in a way to show the world is cooling, you will be as famous as Einstein. You will have found something no one else has been able to find …. you will make history and your name will be remembered long after you have passed on.
“We should be experiencing slow cooling because the sun has been in a cooling phase for several years now.”
Hmm, slow cooling, something like this?

And are you positing that CO2 didn’t play a role in temp change then, but it does now?
Reblogged this on Climatism.
