Another failed prediction. But most people don’t know it.
By Steve Connor, Science Editor – Friday, 27 June 2008
“It seems unthinkable, but for the first time in human history, ice is on course to disappear entirely from the North Pole this year.”
http://www.independent.co.uk/environment/climate-change/exclusive-no-ice-at-the-north-pole-855406.html
FAIL! What is it with the Independent?
But he qualified it by saying that “It seems unthinkable.” Thus, in the wonderful world of journaganda, if you start with that you can say anything. The point being to plant it into popular thinking… and with enough repetition anything can become thinkable.
This fool accidentally went further and said something more concrete – “on course to” – but the course things were on might have changed because everything is worse than we thought.
Steve,
I do appreciate you calling these out.
Wow. The Arctic is screaming? If an Arctic screams in the……Arctic, does it make a sound?
Will Reverend Serreze hold a Seance to communicate with the screaming Arctic? Will he “channel” the Great Arctic Pumpkin? Climate Science is so deep and intellectual.
Thank goodness…
We’ve finally reached a irreversible tipping point.
Now we can forget all this sillyness.
Steve
I think this is a little unfair. This prediction was made on the basis of the 2007 settled science: we’re now in the more enlightened era of the 2011 settled science.
You’ve been caught out like this before. Don’t you remember feeling just a little bit embarrassed by clinging to that archaic 2000 settled science? Boy, did you look a fool when all that snow came down last year!
Where the hell are they getting their data from? Arctic Sea ice is fine as per normal. http://wp.me/P7y4l-5Kc
