Barring a freak storm, on June 10 it will have been 1,000 days since any hurricane struck the US. The longest period since before the Civil War.

They are now predicting three to hit the US this year. AP released the forecast from an independent service yesterday.
What I liked was that the Western US States along the Gulf will be hit.

This is OT but I located this:

It has been discussed many times.

  3. Andy Weiss says:

How long has it been since a major (CAT 3 or higher) hurricane hit? Back to 2005? Has there ever been a time period that long without a landfalling major hurricane?

  4. Al Gored says:

Clearly this 1,000 day gap is an unequivocal sign of The Warming. This is bad. Using standard IPCC procedures, at this rate hurricanes are doomed for extinction.

Mommy, when I grow up will I get to see a hurricane?

  5. Jimbo says:

This lack of hurricane activity hitting landfall IS caused by global warming. Ask Gore.
