Citizen Thinks He Is Qualified To Understand Temperature

Temperatures are meaningless until processed by GISS.

???????Getting chilly

BY NORM KALMANOVITCH, CALGARY HERALD APRIL 11, 2011

Re: “Planting season delayed weeks by late snow, frost,” April 6.

Unlike global warming, which extends growing seasons, global cooling, which started in 2002, will shorten growing seasons for at least the next two decades.

This delayed planting season is a warning for Canadians to prepare for what is to come, but instead of addressing the real threat from global cooling, Canada is still attempting to meet the ludicrous commitments of the Kyoto accord to address the fabricated crisis of human-caused global warming.

The Liberals ratified Kyoto in 2002 without doing the independent scientific verification that would have demonstrated that global warming resulted from changes in solar activity and not from greenhouse gas emissions, since satellites clearly showed that the enhanced greenhouse effect never occurred.

Stephen Harper, the Alliance party leader at the time, was the only political leader who demanded open scientific debate before adopting Kyoto, but the NDP, Green party and Bloc all supported Jean Chretien in ratifying Kyoto and legislating Canada’s Kyoto commitments. They blindly followed fraudulent IPCC dogma and violated their obligation to the public for proper due diligence.

Today, with looming food shortages from global cooling, Canada produces two billion litres of ethanol as “biofuel commitments” to Kyoto, removing enough wheat and corn from the global food supply to feed more than 33 million people.

If Canadians are daft enough to elect a Cretin as PM, what do they expect?

  2. suyts says:

I’m becoming more and more certain the ethanol solution was a purposeful act.

      You smell money a rat?

      • suyts says:

Well, I think that was a bonus to entice a typically skeptical group of people we know as farmers.

I think it was an intentional Malthusian effort. And, I think its working.

30 years ago, a busy highway (by Kansas standards) used to have a billboard that stated an American farmer fed 100 people. The billboard is gone and the number has changed because of increase in yields. Now, they can proudly state, an American farmer fuels some cars at a higher price and lower efficiency than oil workers. But hey, if you catch the price right, you can get over $10/bushel.

James, think subsidies, no regulation on non-food crops, old and moldy works just as good as food grade, and constant demand not tied into a global food market….

….it is the goose that laid the golden egg for farmers

What people don’t understand, food crops have strict regulations…

        ….bio-fool crops do not

They can use pesticides, fertilizers, etc, that are cheaper, use as much as they want…………..

      • suyts says:

        Yes, that was the enticement.
Sadly, when people like me bring up the fact that food prices have soared since then, the response is dissociative denial. One of the Iowa universities even came out with a study that shows where only the surplus corn is being used. (Iowa St., I believe.) The farmers ate that up! I pointed out that the surplus was never 5 billion bushels of corn and that the land use has changed significantly in that other foods are decreasing in total harvest, thus increasing the price of all other foods.

I brought this up to the board president of the company I work for, in passing conversation about fuel prices. He heatedly disagreed with my statements of fact. ………….. Who knew he was also a corn farmer?

Well, I’m not sure I wanted that promotion, anyway.

I always thought that the ethanol deal was a two’fer for the greens. They get to determine our fuel formulations and they get to starve people out of existence. Now I realize that it is a 3’fer because they also buy off the farmers, who would normally be opposed to the AGW nonsense.

The warmists are Malthusian and Machiavellian.

This Norm isn’t your everyday normal citizen. Good on ya Norm.

  4. Andy Weiss says:

Global warming (if it were real) would actually make Canada a viable country, unlike the vast wasteland that 90% of it is.

  5. Another Ian says:

Steve, re “Temperatures are meaningless until processed by GISS.”

It must be much harder to “adjust in hindsight” these temperatures you are getting from old newspaper headlines

Can you compare them to the current “adjusted” for the same time?

  6. DERise says:

Wow, that looked like hate speech (at least in Canada where it seems like anything could be called hate speech). That man could be crucif…prosecuted if he doesn’t shut up and toe the line.
