    And they keep on forgetting history. Ixtoc-1 blowout in 1979 was almost identical, but 5 years later you’d be hard pressed to find any damage.

    The difference though was Ixtoc was owned by the government of Mexico, so they graciously declined to offer compensation, except for token amounts. BP, not owned by Bigger Oil, was not so fortunate.

    Well I’m all for a pristine environment, and looking at that 3rd picture, I’d volunteer to lick every drop of (suntan) oil off those pristine bodies personally. But that’s just green old me.
