He must have never visited Alaska; the mosquito is the unofficial state bird.
I have been ravaged by Mosquitoes at 10,000 feet in the Colorado mountains.
One doesn’t have to wonder too long as to how Mosquito Pass (elevation over 13,000 ft) or the Mosquito Range got their names.
The only place I’ve been where you can see the damned things swarm.
One of the worst outbreaks of Malaria ever recorded occured in the tropical Soviet Union.

Malaria epidemics in USSR and Siberia – 1800s – 1900s
Global Malaria may continue decreasing as it has done for some time now. How utterly inconvenient.
I lived in Eureka, NWT 1979,80 (that’s the 80th parallel) and they were just wonderful in the summer! If you had small children, they were carried away….
but they were a warmcold wetdry mosi…
I hear ya, Been there and seen it! Clouds of them. To the cloud as the Mirosoft fad commercials would say! HAHAHA!
I have killed a mosquito a day for the last 8 days (Guelph Ont. Cda). They are already out as long as the sun warms the areas they shelter in.

LOL
Gore Says That Mosquitos Need Hot Weather……
He says the core of the earth is at “several million degrees” so there must be lots of them there.

25 years living in Fargo, North Dakota will show you ALL you need to know about mosquito’s. I have lived in almost every part of the US during my life, including Hawaii, and I have NEVER, EVER, been anywhere with mosquito’s as bad as North Dakota and Minnesota. Mosquito population has very little to do with temperature, and EVERYTHING to do with geography. Notice how ALL places in the world that have high concentrations of mosquito populations also have the longest seasonal duration of large volumes of standing, stagnant water? … ie: Minnesota (land of 10,000 lakes), and North Dakota, specifically the Red River Valley, which also happens to be the heart of the ancient lake bed of Lake Agassiz (very flat, floods every year, very vast areas of standing, stagnant water).
Worlds worst malaria outbreak was in Northern Siberia!!!
