My NSIDC post below ? was looking at the wrong numbers. The comparison should have compared the September ratio of (>1 ice/<1 ice) to the April ratio of (>2 ice/1-2 ice)
The reason being that the September <1 ice became 1-2 ice over the winter. In which case the ratios appear reasonable in the NSIDC April graph.
Not only do you deserve kudos for admitting your mistake, but you’ve also destroyed Tony Duncan’s entire act with a single post.
