Study: Natural Gas Drilling May Contribute More to Global Warming than Coal

A new study on the environmental impact on natural gas drilling in shale has found that the process known as “hydraulic fracturing” may contribute to global warming as much as coal, or even more, because large amounts of methane, a greenhouse gas, are escaping into the atmosphere during the process. For years, advocates of “fracking” have promoted natural gas as a clean alternative to coal. In the new study, Cornell Professor Robert Howarth writes, “Compared to coal, the footprint of shale gas is at least 20 percent greater and perhaps more than twice as great on the 20-year horizon, and is comparable when compared over 100 years.”

Sorry for the OT but this video will make you laugh even more than the Brock’s Dub.

I don’t why but that cartoon was extremely funny to me. It reminded me of a movie called Quest for Fire. A movie with no words about cavemen. Anyway, our government is failing the American people especially about energy and in particular about natural gas. We have so much and we use such a small percentage of it . Alas.

It can’t be stated enough. And, HE NAILED BOBAMA! He went and begged Brazil to drill more off-shore oil, while prohibiting U.S. off-shore drilling.

Does he think Brazil can drill better and cleaner than the U.S.? Does he think we benefit more from Brazilians being put to work more than Americans? Does he think we are better off that they do it instead of us? Apparently.

Maybe he thinks America needs to be knocked down a few pegs. Maybe he thinks he will make other Nations stronger by making things easier for them. But being given an easier path only will lead to making them weaker. The tougher path he is giving to the American citizens will make them stronger.

He won’t be President forever and won’t be able to frustrate American progress forever.

        Agreed.

We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. ———– Paul.

It is as it has always been. It’s sad to watch mine and the following generation. We suck. But, I’ve great faith in the next one. I expect great things from them, and I hope to be there to help guide some of them. We’ve left much work for them to do.

There is of course a reason for this smear campaign. We’ve uncovered vast reserves of Natural Gas. The objective of Soros and his ilk is to destroy American wealth and self determination using environmentalism as a rope a dope for the useless idiots. There’s even a new movie to freak people out about natural gas coming in thru your plumbing.

We all need to communicate to our conservative reps, to make sure they see this scam for what it is. If we can survive until 2012, and get the Presidency and Senate back, they need to be aware so they can start to unwind the damage. In a sane world, we’d be prosecuting the promoters of this scam.

    • suyts says:

That would be a start, but, I believe the true number of conservative reps in the house are less than 100. In the senate, less than 20. I believe the number of representatives in both houses that truly put the American people as a priority are less than 100 in both houses combined. They need flushed as does the political party system.

Many conservatives celebrated over the 41 bill cut from the 2.4 trillion budget…… Huckabee says it was a victory because the conversation changed from how much we can spend to cutting. This is true. But it should have happened well before Bush signed that asinine bank bailout that both houses passed without any reservations.

That said, I’d prefer a useful idiot over the useless harmful and hateful one we have now.
