Pele Says He Is Better Than Messi
This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Bookmark the permalink.
My Brazilian friends insist there is a player in Bazil’s history that was better than Pele. They insist! I forgot the name they gave. I’ll be with a few of them on Sunday. I’ll try to remember to ask.
As brilliant as Messi is, I still put Maradona ahead of him.
He had the hand of God working for him. ;^)
Indeed, Garrincha is considered to be the better player in Brazil….Ah, Garrincha! The joy of the people! The guy who lost his virginity to a goat and fathered 40+ children….was a great player to be fair…played with a deformed leg and still took the piss……legend.
Well, I’ve lost my appetite now.
There was Leonidas before them, and another great player with a German-sounding family name if I remember correctly.
Pele is the best. Messi is only at the start of his career, so you can’t compare. 3 world cup winners medals and 3 goals in world cup final matches is the benchmark.
His last goal against Madrid was pretty amazing.
Pele had to be the greatest. He is the Babe Ruth of Soccer!
Does Pele have a candy bar? Come on!
;O)
My opinion is that Babe Ruth still holds the single season home run record. He will hold it until someone hits over 60 in 154 games without being “juiced”. But for all we know, maybe Babe Ruth was juiced (on something other than booze).
Here he is: Arthur Friedenreich. Better than the rest, apparently.
