The image Obama released today has white space around each letter. The image on the right has all the white space digitally filled in with red.
My birth certificate is below, and it doesn’t have a gap between the text and the green background.
No white space. I can’t think of any physical process which would create that white space.
Hey Steve. I posted this earlier on your original Birth Cert entry.,..
Check it out. The document was doctored by the WH to make it legible…HA!!

Hey MikeTheBirthDenier (sorry, couldn’t resist),
Maybe you could go layer by layer and explain what they represent? I’m pretty handy with Photoshop and Gimp but didn’t bother as I figured it was a done deal, a game the Obama team has been playing by leading the birthers into a lair. It may be the same thing here.
The aliasing looks pretty odd (obvious?) as Steve shows, but I suppose the white around the black letters could be an aberration caused by the photocopy lighting, but then I’m no expert.
Recall the Bush forgery once it was examined; a no brainer by an amateur. In this case it would seem unfathomable with the resources available the WH would be so sloppy. I mean, if the birth certificate is altered, faked or whatever, wouldn’t it be done by real professionals, like you know……
I was mostly neutral on the subject other than all this talk about transparency was a big lie. To me he’s president and that won’t change until he’s booted out next year no matter what comes of this. OTOH, if this birth certificate turns out to be fraudulent, that should pretty much guarantee Obama’s political career if finished, but you never know with a populace dependent on government for their sustenance.
The *only way* that could happen is if someone has retouched the document.
The white space is because the background was photoshopped in. There are apparently quite a few layers in the file.
Look at the curved portion on the left, which looks like a document still in a binder was pressed against a photocopier.
Then note the boundaries that would define a sheet that width and where they lie, and the pattern in the rest of the document is perfectly matched even as it passes over those boundaries… particularly along the bottom. I see a faint line on the top.
You’re White???
lol, A vegetarian cyclist……….. yeh, what are the odds?
I noticed that too……….. but, you’re a graphics guy, you know that can be eliminated if one was to alter in that manner……just as in the manner you changed the white to red. They can’t be that dumb.
They ARE Democrats!
Well, true…….
You are reminding me of Columbo putting his hand up to his forehead, “Just one more thing…….”

Holy counterfeits, Batman!
White space around the letters? What white space around the letters? That’s actually called red meat for the lions. And them lions, they be hungry!! They been waiting 2 1/2 years for a bite!
;O)
The word AFRICAN as a race, make no sense to me.
In 1961,they would have used the word Negro or Black in that space.
They used the term that he used to describe himself, why would an african describe himself otherwise?
It happens automatically when you convert an image file to PDF with Acrobat and optimise it. Try it yourself if you like with your own birth certificate scan. As for why some of the digits get highlighted more than others, that’s down to how well the embedded OCR software recognises the text.
