Dominance of the graph by the MWP was the challenge. As IPCC participant Jay Overpeck said in his email to Professor Deming, “We have to get rid of the Medieval Warm Period.”
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

People were growing grapes and raising crops in Greenland back then. That was such a horrible thing. Far better to have a frozen wasteland.
A few crops yes (probably oats and barley) , but not grapes.
What’s odd is that there is no consistent record of sea level rise for that period either…
Ah, but there was. Have a look at the flooding of the Danish, German and Dutch coasts at that time. Its all in the historical record.
Let’s see here; Global Warming – it gets a bit warmer and wetter and some ice melts in frozen inaccessible wastelands. How is this a bad thing? If indeed it is getting inexorably warmer – it might be getting cooler. Cool. Bad. Warm. Good.
It doesn’t have anything to do with the climate. It is about jobs and reputations.
They lost both of those especially the reputations and the jobs will follow soon!
To me this is the sign that they have lost all hope. I mean, attempting to overturn Holocene temps via computer programs and pollen grains is desperate.
I’d like to know who the climate scientist is who said “We have to get rid of the Medieval Warm Period.”
It was Overpeck:
“As IPCC participant Jay Overpeck said in his email to Professor Deming, “We have to get rid of the Medieval Warm Period.”
