Not a chance. If a prolonged solar minimum causes the planet to cool then the alarmists will merely claim “we got lucky” and predict a super-duper exponential warming trend whenever solar activity returns to normal levels.
Even an acknowledgement that solar activity can influence climate would, in itself, show the hypocrisy of their position, given they have always denied that increased solar activity contributed to 20th century warming, but what the heck. It wouldn’t be the first time they have contradicted themselves.
