The global warming issue is a non starter in the Republican Party. Also, you have to be a scum bag to abandon your terminally ill spouse. That will not sit well either. Newt isn’t going anywhere.
As a Republican, I can think of three self sufficient show-stopper reasons why I’d never vote for Newt in a Republican primary; his continued support for ethanol as a transportation fuel, his climate change daliance with Nancy, and his filandering while conducting impeachment proceedings on Clinton’s filandering. I am surprised that Newt’s getting into this race and predict he’ll be out of it by the first Super Tuesday results next year. Only the Donald would make a more absurd Republican candidate.
As a life-long Republican myself, I copy everything you say. Newt is a washout.
The Donald is at least (in politics) a new kid on the block. Newt’s star power flamed out a long time ago. He’s yesterday’s news.

That should be:

Why did Newt drink the Kool Aid on global warming? He appears completely out of step with the rest of the Republican Party. He probably won’t even be a first tier candidate.
Probably another Democrat backed candidate like McCain. Why else would he be hanging out with Nancy?
You caught that act also?
It was extremely obvious during the 2010 primaries.
Maybe Newt has carbon investments. Al Gore does. 🙂
