The Met Office has teamed up with Rapanui, an eco-fashion company, to create a range of weather related T-shirts just in time for summer.
The Met Office eco clothing collection is made from organic cotton in an ethical, wind powered factory and features a range of weather related designs inspired by the imagery, science and history of the Met Office.
Mart Drake-Knight co-founder of Rapanui said:
“The Met Office is the international authority on climate change research, as well as being our national weather service that provides weather forecasts that we can trust and rely on.”
Here are a couple of their top sellers.
Shadows of “Robocop 2″…
I want some of whatever Mart is smoking
The Met Office left the reservation a long time ago. They are about as useful as a used nappy.
The last refuge of the rogue is the appeal to authority.
I could go on about the crappy Met Office but it’s just too easy.
The Met office first gave us wonderful sunshine for the royal wedding, then drenching rain. As if anyone really cares one way or the other.
Steve, you ought to start really marketing some of that! Heck, I’d buy one!
Agree. Somebody should. I’d love a ‘It’s worse then we thought” T-shirt.
I too would buy one and wear it proudly! I am skeptic, hear me roar!
LOL!
Talk about asking for it……..
If anybody can find it, there is a 1995 or 1996 Matt cartoon from the Daily Telegraph with a seaside scene, two ladies on the beach in a very hot, sunny day. There is also a man next to them wearing fishing boots and waterproof hat and coat. The lady nearest to him says to the other one, “Yes, my husband works at the Met Office, how did you guess?“
Is this what they meant by re-framing the message?
The danger of mixing pop culture with ‘science’ has been fully realized courtesy of our pals on the left. They just need to find a way to include Che with a tie dyed hemp based Met office T-Shirt.
Off topic, but Nils-Axel Morner has a new paper out predicting a new Little Ice Age by mid-century:

He’s not the only one to that.
Time for me to move south again.
