So a headline saying that “snowfalls are now just a thing of the past” is not a scientific prediction or statement. It is a newspaper headline, and should be treated as an invitation to read the entire story, which in this case clearly pointed out that snowfalls are becoming less frequent in Britain. This is still the case even with the experience of having two snowy winters on the run.
Which explains why many cities in the UK have run out of grit the last three or four winters.
There must be snowfall records for Britian going back well over a hundred years. A close examination of those records should reveal the truth of the matter.
In Washington, DC, the average annual snowfall has gone down a few inches over the last 50 years, but we had our snowiest season on record during the 2009-10 winter. DC also have had 6 snowstorms over 15 inches in the last 32 years while none during the previous 55 years.
So go figure, we are getting less snow but bigger snowstorms. That is a sure sign of a climate disruption and impending doom!
The commenters over at the Independent are giving this nutter a right thrashing.
This statement is clearly false.
Rundown of UK snow 2000 – 2010 (Most years it snowed ;))

I have not even touched on this past winter in the UK.
Steve Connor thinks we are all stupid or have a short memory. Thankfully the internet has a memory my friend. 🙂 FAIL!
Fool!
More snow hilarity from the BBC
Hahahahaha! 🙂
More hilarity from the Independent science reporting.
Clearly that wasn’t a prediction, but simply an invitation to read more of his blatherings. I note, that while he asserts that snowfalls are becoming less frequent, he offers no proof.
No, no, no. “Invitation” is wrong. Anything a skeptic believes to be a prediction is actually a “scenario.” No other word will cut it…get it right!

Obama falls back down in polls, approval down 2%, bin Laden bump gone

Now that Trump steps out who will the Republican President in January, 2013 be?
The Republicans need someone with a lot of testosterone, like Sarah Palin or Jan Brewer. The estrogen levels of Gingrich and the rest of the Republican men are just too high.
Gingrich is quite a character, isn’t he. He’s a box of chocolates, you NEVER know what you’re going to get from him.
I am wondering who those 2% were that thought Obama’s approval should have gone up over bin Laden. Obama taking credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden is like the rooster taking credit for the sun rise.

According to CET all winters after 1989 were colder than that of 1989.

That might deserve it’s own posting! It’s funny that it’s so close to the 1988 official declaration of global warming by Hansen.

Well on a yearly basis CET doesn’t show any significant (!) warming at all since 1989/1990 (watch the Pinatubo in 1991!)
