Temperatures rocketing up close to -20C. All this melting is going to drown Manhattan.

Heat Wave, how will the children survive this heat….
Not much fun in the sun, even with superexponential warming.
Daniel Packman of UCARs claims that the ice melts under the glaciers… in his own words:
“The main nonlinear feedback mechanism that is beginning to be understood is ice melt. It seems that water can melt underneath ice and accelerate its movement. In any case, we have plenty of issues to consider with just the few degrees of temperature rise that we expect.” – Daniel Packman, UCAR
I wonder what data they actually have on this? What do you know about this claim Steve?
I don’t see how water or ice sheets can move uphill out of valleys though. Typically a lake would form.
I am not directly involved in this research and am not posting in any official capacity. This is just my impression of research results. Even in this capacity, I can agree that ice tends not to flow up hill.
Never claimed you where making an official post … just pointing out a claim you made and wondered about it to someone who might want to investigate further… plus mentioned where you work since you work at one of the institutions that is involved in making co2 climate doomsday claims… that is relevant information for people to know, unless you’re ashamed of that fact?
I love reading this website. It always reminds me of reading some of the things from the tobacco industry back in the 1960’s – 1990’s. Just keep on denying the truth….and delaying the fix.
Fortunately, the truth never leaves…..and the evidence just keeps on mounting:)
Good point. Manhattan is underwater as Hansen predicted.
