Adding Insult To Injury In Greenland

After suffering through their tenth coldest spring on record and a cold first month of summer, Greenlanders have to listen to the rantings of idiots at the ABC.

Global warming provides new benefits in Greenland

The winter solstice was at 3:16 this morning (EST), marking the shortest day of the year. So from now on the days will get longer, whereas in the northern hemisphere it’s the summer solstice, so the days are going to get shorter.

In Greenland, the climactic transformation that’s come with global warming has brought record warmth to the Arctic — far out of proportion to the changes elsewhere in the globe. But it’s been a good thing for many of the 56,000 people who live in Greenland. The tourist summer season is longer, the caribou are larger and more plentiful, the cod migration lasts longer and, for the first time, there’s even the possibility of agriculture, with locals trying their hand at growing vegetables.

The entire island is covered with snow. What are they growing? Snow peas?

I listened to the interview and was astonished by what the journalist in Greenland was saying. She claimed that it was currently 30C in northern Greenland. In fact, the highest temperature in Northern Greenland is about 7C.

    Grapes for ice wine :).

Steve, its isn’t necessary for us rational thinkers, but maybe you should clarify that the temps shown in your map are Fahrenheit not Celsius. You know, some of the drive by visitors you get…….they’re not very bright.

And we wouldn’t want that now, would we. I just don’t get how people view that as a bad thing.

Maybe the “journalist” in Greenland who said it was 30 doesn’t know the difference between C and F?

They could probably grow some vegetables there due to the greenhouse effect, if they had one. They’d grow even better if they pumped up the CO2 in it.

As an aside it was 14C in Alert yesterday if their thermometer has not gone screwy. That’s pretty warm.

not sure where you saw that Andy, I checked Env. Canada webpage and it showed 7C as the high. Eureka hit 10C

      • Lance says:

I stand corrected…did some digging on the archives and it appears we have a new location possibly or something has changed, as the main Env. Canada page for the last 24 hours shows 7C, but the archives show up to 13C but then stop….perhaps malfunction, but don’t have enough info…

If Greenland has had a “climactic transformation”, as the article states, does that mean that the transformation is now complete, or that the end times are near?

Although the actual author of that page is unclear on their website, they have a contact page we can use.

Let’s invite them here to explain this egregious case of propaganda, if they have the courage. Leftists must always be challenged, most of them crumble when faced with hard questions by people that don’t back down..

Of course, there is a possibility that their website is not even human driven. Judging by the depth of their fear-mongering, it may just be a script that randomly generates propaganda and substitutes today’s date. Lord knows there is enough of a database of alarmism to draw from.

  6. Nobama says:

I can understand that Hansen is using divine guidance to determine arctic temperatures now, After all, he is a high priest. But how does he do it for all the decades of old? Is he channeling Janis Joplin? Does he use a time machine? Or does he just draw squiggly lines over the pole, and color it all in with Pink?

Can we trust his little eco-psycho brain to draw those lines in the right places?

Maybe we can get one of the warming faithful to go back to the Borg and get an answer for us!

Steve, come up with an ad for cheap farm land for sale in Greenland and send to Jim H!! see if he bites?
