1) No single weather event is caused by climate change; climate is defined as the sum total of weather, so the effect of a climate change on weather is only detectable in the aggregate statistics.
2) For some types of severe weather, such as tornadoes, the science doesn’t currently allow us to say that global warming is making them worse. So that shouldn’t be stated.
3) Nevertheless, global warming represents a key change operating in background of all weather—there’s more overall heat. This is certain to have a wide array of consequences—like a greater risk of heat waves, and more intense precipitation events–and indeed, some of those are already being detected.
Had humans had been this stupid in the past, we would still be living in caves.

So, as we all know, there are three types of lies: Lies, damm lies, and statistics.

There is no way to prove that the line we feed to you every day is true or total crap.

We don’t care, because we think everyone is so stupid they will believe us, even though nothing we have ever produced in the past had a shred of validity.
Comes down to that question that no alarmist is able to answer: What conditions would indicate that the climate isn’t being adversely affected by CO2?
We should be celebrating the longest period in the last 200 years without a major (100+ fatality) tornado disaster, 1974-2011. Your luck can only hold out for so long.
“…operating in the background of all weather…”
Is that like the “penumbra of the Constitution?”
Climate is the study of changing weather patterns. Which means that climate is change. If climate is change, how can climate change? There has been more severe weather over shorter intervals than we experienced in the recent past.
The only way climate could change is if weather patterns stopped changing. For that to happen the globe would have to warm enough that a tropical or semi tropical climate existed globally as it did at times in the past.
Global Warming would result in Milder weather overall.
The folks at Discover need to get their collective heads out of their posterior.
