Ice Sheet Melt Down The Rabbit Hole

Our top scientists tell us that Greenland and Antarctica are melting at unprecedented rates, as well as continental glaciers. They also tell us that 2010 was the hottest year ever.

Meanwhile, raw Envisat and Jason 2 data both show sea level currently the lowest since they started taking measurements. Apparently all of that glacial meltwater is going down the rabbit hole – because it isn’t making it to the oceans.

Climate science is not constrained by conservation of mass, because they use computer models. Like any other video game, when a theory gets killed – it respawns a few seconds later. Climate models also have cheat codes built into them – otherwise known as empirically derived parameters.

Actually Steve the melt is unprecedented, the extra water is just falling off the edge of the earth though…

  2. suyts says:

The earthquakes!!!!! They’re opening up the earth to its hollow center and filling up with water!!!

Serious question. I noticed an option for isostatic adjustment where .3mm/year is added to the sea level rise trend. My question is this, does anyone know if there is any downward adjustments made for land subsidence? Also glaciers have been melting for centuries so how do these scientists account for isostatic rbound in the past? Unless they have made adjustments in the past there is no apples to apples comparison of past to present sea level rise and they would be creating a false increase. Any thoughts?

    • They are just pulling numbers out of their ass to try to show some kind of rise.

    • suyts says:

lol, no way!!! Why just the other day I went down to the seashore with them and measured the earth jumping up 0.05 mm in just one week!!!……… against what you ask?……..well…

    • Jim Cole says:

Read Nils-Axel Morner papers. He’s studied and documented sea-level changes for about 40 years and he’s pretty savvy about the subsidence adjustments (etc.)

Generally, he argues that tide records from unstable coastlines (going up or going down) really ought to be excluded from “globaL” calculations – just to keep the thumb off the scales, so to speak.

        Jim:
His name has come up through the years when talking seriously about sea level conditions but ignored when the Chicken Little Brigade wants people to believe their fairy tales.
I especially associate him with Tuvalu and the real sea level conditions around that group of wannabe islands.

ITS OFFICIAL – Global warming not to blame for 2011 droughts

“Drought across the southern US – and heavy rains across the north of the country – are a result of La Niña, says Michael Hayes, director of the National Drought Mitigation Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. An extended holding pattern in the jet stream, the same type of “blocking event” that caused last summer’s heat wave in Russia, is responsible for this year’s European droughts, says Michael Blackburn of the University of Reading, UK.

As for the apparent convergence of droughts worldwide, Mark Saunders of University College London says current conditions aren’t that unusual. News media may simply be more tuned in to reporting extreme weather events.”

No human fingerprint to be found yet again by real scientists but Reverend Bill McKibben and his “350 Church” flock still embrace the CAGW rapture.

  5. Andy WeissDC says:

The oceans are evapotransporating super-duperexponentially due the warming planet! We are all doomed!

  6. Baa Humbug says:

The water is being used up by greedy industrialists and miners. Have you seen the size of their dirty filthy tailings dams?
At this rate, our great grandchildren and their children will have no water by 2100, what will they drink?

(If anybody replies “kool-aid” I’ma gunna screammm)

  7. Mike Davis says:

    “empirically derived parameters.”
I thought it was Wild A$$ Guesses but maybe they are the same.

  8. Drat and double drat! Those wacky ice-racers, glaciers and ice-sheets are slowing down! We’ll just have to think of some way to speed ’em up so the sea just reaches the front door of AlGore’s sea-front condo, but unfortunately it’ll only do that twice a day.
