This Is Your Mind On Al Gore

What is global warming?

Global warming is when the earth heats up (the temperature rises).  It happens when greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane) trap heat and light from the sun in the earth’s atmosphere, which increases the temperature.  This hurts many people, animals, and plants.

Although the greenhouse effect makes the earth able to have people living on it, if there gets to be too many gases, the earth can get unusually warmer, and many plants, animals, and people will die.  They would die because there would be less food (plants like corn, wheat, and other vegetables and fruits).  This would happen because the plants would not be able to take the heat.  This would cause us to have less food to eat, but it would also limit the food that animals have.  With less food, like grass, for the animals that we need to survive (like cows) we would even have less food.  Gradually, people, plants, and animals would all die of hunger.

What are greenhouse gasses?

Greenhouse gasses are gasses are in the earth’s atmosphere that collect heat and light from the sun.  With too many greenhouse gasses in the air, the earth’s atmosphere will trap too much heat and the earth will get too hot.  As a result people, animals, and plants would die because the heat would be too strong.

Once upon a time…..the end. (from the movie “Holes”)…loved that quote…

  2. Ill wind blowing says:

Which one of the two; Al Gore or Lord Monckton; has accomplished and/or said the following?

    1. Said that you can eat DDT by the tablespoon and it won’t harm you.
    2. Produced a cure for Multiple Sclerosis, Herpes, Influenza and the disease he still suffers from.
    3. Won a Nobel Peace Prize made from gold recovered from a physics experiment.

    • Ill wind blowing says:

That is your mind on Lord Monckton.

    • Amino Acids in Meteorites says:

      Speaking of DDT………

It actually can be eaten. Experimentation showed it can.

Michael Crichton on DDT, including that it can be eaten

Your name is Ill wind or Ill prepared?

    • Amino Acids in Meteorites says:

      Ill wind blowing

30,000,000 people have died because of the DDT ban. 60’s activists have killed 30,000,000 people with malaria.

      • Ill wind blowing says:

Another Monckton confabulation. DDT was not banned in Africa. They stopped using it except in emergencies. In any case Mosquitoes acquire immunity to it in months.

By the way, why is everyone here too cowardly to respond to the obvious absurdity of Lord Monckton’s claim to have cured MS< Herpes, the common cold and his own disease, WHICH HE STILL SUFFERS FROM!? And what about that Nobel Peace Prize made from gold recovered from a physics experiment.

Face it, you are a cult member and all the pathetic attempts at attempting to deflect the insanity of that pathologically lying Megalomaniac only emphasize your gullibility.

      • Amino Acids in Meteorites says:

You are evil Ill wind. You are playing word games. It wasn’t banned. But the effect is the same, and you know it. 30,000,000 million people have died from your ilk killing them with malaria.

        You are evil Ill wind.

      • Amino Acids in Meteorites says:

You are making things up Ill wind. You are in an evil fantasy world.

You avoid the reality in the world. 60’s activists got DDT, in effect, banned. Let’s not play little word games. Let’s not act like those 30,000,000 dead was unavoidable. You approve of killing 30,000,000 people. They would not have died if they were able to use DDT. Apparently millions of people dying from preventable malaria is not an emergency to you and your evil ilk of human monsters.

      Traitor in Chief says:

“uh, Foul Wind? Let’s put the two of them side by side for comparison. On one side we have science flunkie Al Gore, while on the other side, we have The Science advisor to GB under Thatcher.

So why did Margaret Thatcher not mention him anywhere in her 900+ page book?

Furthermore you’re merely running away from the reality that skeptics chief proponent is a snake oil salesman and a pathological liar. How can a rational person give credibility to a man who makes the most preposterous claims about himself.

But if you don’t believe me just take his “cure” for MS, Herpes; the common cold and, last but not least, Graves disease; which HE STILL suffers from!

      • P.J. says:

@IWB: Who mentioned Monckton first? You did. Who talks about Monckton here? I can’t remember seeing him discussed in the few months I have been visiting this site. Search this site … out of Steve’s thousands of posts, only 3 references to Monckton come up. You say he “is a snake oil salesman and a pathological liar” and a, “pathologically lying Megalomaniac”. Perhaps he is … but you could just as easily be describing Al Gore. After all, both are politicians and neither one is a scientist.

By the way, you also say, “By the way, why is everyone here too cowardly to respond to the obvious absurdity of Lord Monckton’s claim …”. It is one thing if people make the claim first about how wonderful Monckton is and you refute it. But you made the claim first. I am glad you said “people here are too cowardly to respond” … because you have made claims here that I have countered (there are four of my own comments alone on “GISS Shows No Warming …”, one of which was posted for a second time) that you did not (can not?) respond to. Pot-kettle?

      • P.J. says:

@IWB: “How can a rational person give credibility to a man who makes the most preposterous claims about himself.”

        You mean like this?:

      • Mike Davis says:

        IWB:
To be a “Pathological Scientist” related to “Climatology” one needs to be a Pathological Liar. Just like the issue that for every dollar spent showing warming is not a problem there is 1,000 dollars spent promoting the Chicken Little agenda, For every exaggerator on the Sceptic / realist side there are 1,000 Chicken Little Wannabes spouting nonsense like you!

      • Ill wind blowing says:

PJ; It is precisely because the Lord of Skeptics is not hardly mentioned that I juxtapose him with the man that seems to enthrall skeptics. Bottom line what moral right do the posters here have to criticize others when they’re full of dirty laundry themselves.

      • P.J. says:

@IWB: “Bottom line what moral right do the posters here have to criticize others when they’re full of dirty laundry themselves.”

        1) Nice straw man. If you consider the people here full of dirty laundry, then everyone on this planet is. Based on your argument, EVERYBODY ON EARTH should shut up and say nothing to each other. That would avoid any criticisms at all. Come to think of it, that sounds a lot like political correctness.

        2) Al Gore should be criticised, loud and often. He is the front man for AGW. If it is as bad as he says it is, he has a moral obligation to pratice what he preaches, and he does not. The man lives a lavish lifestyle and buys carbon credits from his own company and then says his lifestyle is carbon neutral. I say horseshit … at least that is carbon neutral.

    • Justa Joe says:

I need to see all of the purported quotes in context. Otherwise it appears to be just more of Ill Wind’s BS like “Christian Dominionists” hiding under his bed.

  3. Michael says:

Shows what a load of rubbish that a Nobel Peace Prize is- The Nobel Committee is so political awarding a prize for totally flawed movie. We are so worried about the indoctination of our kids- Here’s what thinking like a scientist is to the EPA (US)- measuring temperatures proves humans are making the world warmer even climate scientist alarmists wouldn’t say that enough alone.

  4. higley7 says:

I just LOVE the decreased food production claims!

First off, it’s hot in Iowa all summer long and the corn thrives in the heat and stifling humidity. The zucchini grows so fast you can see it move.

What these charlatans do not mention is that, with warming, the summer highs hardly change and the winter lows are not quite as low. You have a longer growing season which means MORE food, not less. Track the daily average or always talk about variation from an average (the anomaly) and you have warming which does not really tell when it is warmer.

If a clear Iowa night got to -25.0 deg F instead of -25.5 deg F, it would make no difference to anybody or anything, but it would register as a half a degree of warming.

The variation from anomaly presented without discussion of the daily highs and lows is the BIG LIE that is foisted on the public. And then the adjustments to temperature data for the urban heat island effect and poorly sited and maintained measuring sites are not properly done and, for good measure, they love to make the older data lower and the recent data warmer. Demand only to see the raw data from good sites!

  5. GregW says:

I know it sounds crazy to think the sun could ever affect the temperature on earth but NASA SCIENCE said that very thing on their webpage a few years ago. Wacky, huh?

“The intensity of the Sun varies along with the 11-year sunspot cycle. When sunspots are numerous the solar constant is high (about 1367 W/m2); when sunspots are scarce the value is low (about 1365 W/m2). Eleven years isn’t the only “beat,” however. The solar constant can fluctuate by ~0.1% over days and weeks as sunspots grow and dissipate. The solar constant also drifts by 0.2% to 0.6% over many centuries, according to scientists who study tree rings.
These small changes can affect Earth in a big way. For example, between 1645 and 1715 (a period astronomers call the “Maunder Minimum”) the sunspot cycle stopped; the face of the Sun was nearly blank for 70 years. At the same time Europe was hit by an extraordinary cold spell: the Thames River in London froze, glaciers advanced in the Alps, and northern sea ice increased. An earlier centuries-long surge in solar activity (inferred from studies of tree rings) had the opposite effect: Vikings were able to settle the thawed-out coast of Greenland in the 980s, and even grow enough wheat there to export the surplus to Scandinavia.”

    “trap light” OMFG

    • Mike Davis says:

Any day now we will not need light at night because the excess CO2 will trap enough to eliminate darkness. Soon they will find a way to increase the CO2 in ovens to reduce the energy needed to cook food! At the proper level of CO2 you will only need a 100 watt light bulb to heat your house during the coldest of winters.
With all the light being trapped Solar energy will become more reliable and become closer to cost effective!
The excess warming will definitely fix the over population problem!
If is such a magical word! If “this” then anything is possible.
Just think of the possibilities. With proper equpment we could have CO2 powered transportation!
