I was tempted to heave a huge shrug. It’s very hard to gauge what percentage of America’s millions understand such phenomonena as the “greenhouse effect” and will support action to reverse it.
In 2009, Hansen granted Earth a reprieve and said that 2012 is the last chance we have to save the planet.

That requires leadership that still believes in American exceptionalism. The current administration is busy traveling the world bowing and apologizing for past American exceptionalism. America is so sorry you blow and it’s all our fault. We have already taken great strides in reducing exceptionalism, public education for instance, but it isn’t enough. Take heart, the man who sees himself as the savior of the earth has a plan to diminish American exceptionalism by punishing those who are exceptional people.
When I was in China 30 years ago I saw how punishing exceptionalism worked extremely well in discouraging productivity so I think we are well on are way to pre-productive China where we can all be equal. Malthusian leadership embracing colletivism is what Americans support at the moment. It is now the governments job to define our collective happiness so we can all look forward to living in tent cities soon like OWS types, and then we will all be happy. 🙂
Here is a profile of the new enemy of America as promoted by our Malthusian leaders. These are the exceptional people, the 1%, and OMG they started out just like everybody else and how dare they excel and do better than everyone else, the bastards. Don’t they understand they are hurting everyone else by making more money? Don’t they understand that working harder and smarter to get ahead of others is unfair? 🙂

We have obviously missed the train with respect to saving the planet. It’s much too late. So let’s eat, drink and be merry!
How dare people try to be exceptional! When they do that, they fall victim to evil Capitalist values, such as the work ethic, innovation, competition and the profit motive. Would you want your child to be like that?
Going back 40 years or more these guys have kept on continually harping that we are always just a few years away from total doom. It wasn’t global warming at first, there were others “reasons” then. And through the ’80s and ’90s and 2000s these people have not missed a beat.
But… it’s of some significance… that ALL their predictions of doom have not come true. And ALL their models predicting runaway warming and sea rise etc have failed. Time and again, like clockwork, their predictions have not come true. But the public, and the liberal MSM, seems to have no memory of the past predictions. It’s on to the new! Forget the old.
It’s unremitting deception. A broken record. Doom and gloom until the cows come home. It’s clear as day that these doomsayers are off their rockers and their predictions are laughable. Yet they seem oblivious, unfazed, moving apace like mindless automatons they roll out fresh baloney daily it seems. A joke.
A little perspective –
3 billion years ago life on earth began.
225 million years the first dinosaurs appear. For more than 100 million years dinosaurs where top of the food chain. Then –
65.5 million years ago The Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event eradicates about half of all animal species, including mosasaurs, pterosaurs, plesiosaurs, ammonites, belemnites, rudist and inoceramid bivalves, most planktic foraminifers, and all of the dinosaurs (but excluding their descendants the birds.)
65-35 million years ago witnessed very large diversification. The first grasses appear and rapid rise of modern mammal population and diversity.
35-10 million years ago mammals dominate the land. Early kangaroos, diversity in Australian megafauna.
6.5 million years ago the first hominin (Sahelanthropus) appear.
2 million years ago the first members of the genus Homo appear in the fossil records.
0.350 million years ago the Homo evolution to Neanderthals
0.15 million years ago Neanderthals are being replaced by modern humans.
0.03 million years ago Neanderthals are extinct.
10,000 years ago the Holocene Epoch starts 10,000 years ago after the Late Glacial Maximum
Now apparently after 3 billion years of diversity, we humans by burning fissile fuels will endanger or even wipe out this record. After all this time, the global climate system has not got feedback systems to counter a very, very slight rise in CO2 – a feedback method that does not destroy all life?
It is crass arrogance of those educated beyond their ability to understand, to imply such a global catastrophe!
Don’t forget – when the world first began, a gas was released into the atmosphere, killing all the organisms on Earth. The ones that managed to adapt survived and continued to reproduce. That gas was…oxygen.
Earth has endured numerous and more deadly extinctions in its 4 billion year lifespan, and all of them have happened before humans came to be. Quite amazing how Hansen and his minions forget such a fact…they should read Darwin’s “On the Origin of Species”. Darwin talks about climate change and how it influences natural selection.
