Little Change In Arctic Ice Forecast For The Next Few Days

The US Navy is forecasting very little change in Arctic ice extent over the next four days. This is due to abnormally cold water on both sides of the Arctic Basin, near Greenland and Alaska. Normally we would expect to see Bering Sea ice disappearing very quickly now.

    In the past, only scientist and journalists seemed to be concerned about the “opening up” of the Arctic. Now, politicians and the military are also turning their gaze to this region, which rising temperatures have made more accessible than ever.
