They also told us that the Arctic will be ice free by 2013.

Speaking of the BBC and things uniquely British – Who from Britain is going to hike / canoe / kayak / row to the North Pole from England this year? I haven’t heard and I might have just, you know, missed it.
After all, there are plenty of predictions / forecasts / scenarios / public pronouncements that the Arctic will be Ice Free or at very least Nearly Ice Free this summer.
And here I thought Britian used to be a fascinating country full of bright minds and wits. Now…God Britain, what the fuck?
