And win we did. One happy 60 year old City fan, whose peak attendance period coincided with the Mercer/Allison years. This one has been a long time coming. The scenario and the resolution was not that different in 1968. Happy days.
But in 1968, there weren’t any seats at football stadiums! I remember watching matches at Oxford United on my feet – with barbed wire separating the fans.
I was at Uni at Oxford – used to go to the Manor on and off. Seen City there as well, penned in the Cuckoo Lane end bear pit! Happy Days.
