This week science fiction writer Elizabeth Moon argues that everyone should be given a barcode at birth.

This could prevent mistakes in identity, mistakes that result in the deaths of innocent bystanders. Weapons systems would record the code of the use, identifying how fired which shot and leading to more accountability in the field.
Anonymity would be impossible as would mistaken identity making it easier to place responsibility accurately, not only in war but also in non-combat situations far from the war.”
In other words, she is looking for a way to design weapons systems which can identify individual civilians. i.e a quick way to eliminate the tea party or other enemies of dear leader.

The product of simple, childlike thinking. How soon would it be before the enemy figures out how to disguise or convert noncombatants to combatants and then they take us out because we will not shoot the noncombatant is an RPG launcher because the scanner says they are not hostile? How soon will they figure out how to recode the chips, creating a whole new black market of identity swapping?

This goes to prove that you cannot teach common sense. There are no indications of any kind that warming is bad. However, below 45 deg F, plants do not grow. There are always plants that can grow food for any warmer climate, but in the cold with no food, that would be a bad, very bad thing.
Moon is all about the agenda (UN 21) and knows or cares nothing about the real world and people. She is a real idiot—a person unaware of the real world around her. By her thinking, she should never be given a raise by her employer as the argument could be made that she has never had that much money and thus would not be able to handle it.

Re: bar codes to distinguish bad guys from innocent civilians.
1) Who will generate the database that identifies the bad guys with specific bar codes?
2) The bar code can easily be covered up or altered or removed.
3) Still doesn’t solve the human shield problem.

According to Liz the loss of albedo, which is a so-called positive feedback making the world hotter, will cause an ice-age. She’s got her AGW baloney all mixed up it seems. I am amazed by the perception that some people have of RFID chips. I know people that are convinced that the injectable ones can store your entire legal and medical history. The injectable ones that I have seen data on have a capacity of 128 to 512 bytes of data. If your entire medical history (or political history) is that short, you have had a short and dull life. I have met people that are convinced that a scanner by a busy highway could identify all of the implanted people driving past it. The manufacturers data that I have seen indicates that, with ideal conditions and good luck, they can be read from 18 inches, but 3 to 6 inches is much more reliable. To believe that you could mount a scanner on a rifle that could read a RFID from a target at 100 yards is to disqualify any of your beliefs from serious consideration. If you have a pet with an injected RFID chip, ask your vet why he passes the scanner wand very close to the pet rather then just having read the chip when the pet came through the door.
Where did she come up with the 2 billion figure? Sounds like she pulled it out of her posterior.

The BBC documented their utopian ideal here, warning, 3 hours long and NOTHING HAPPENS and the plot makes no sense. Probably so it fits in a fabian brain.

Ms Moon had a collection of her short fiction, about 20 years ago, entitled “Lunar Activity” – a pun on her name. Should that have been “Lunatic Activity”? Unfortunately, such blatant yearning for tyranny, coupled with complete blindness to the facts, has become the gold standard in science fiction. It used to be adventurous, mind-expanding, looking out at the universe, but it has devolved into numbing propaganda and viscious proselytizing – just think of “The Hunger Games”. Maybe it was a childish genre all along; and now that their shiny toys are no longer dangled before them – “You won’t get a vacation on Mars! No aliens in sight, cuddly or otherwise! Where’s my technological singularity, dude?” – all these spoiled brats are left with is throwing temper tantrums.
I guess we shouldn’t mind them trying to put microchips in us as long as they don’t mind us trying to put bullets and shrapnel in them.
