Yes, ABC presents lies instead of news. It is a good thing when anyone wakes up to the fact that he is being lied to about something. ABC lies — and so does NBC — and CNN — and Fox — and all the rest. They lie because they are not in the business of dispensing the truth; truth is not the commodity which they sell. What they are in the business of selling is YOU, or rather access to YOUR eyeballs. Advertisers pay ABC, CNN, NBC, Fox, and then the networks deliver access to your eyeballs. If they could get more viewers by showing the truth, they would do so, but people being as they are, the networks have found that they make more money by presenting discord and danger. After all, we are wired to respond quickly to cries of danger. We are almost unable, even if we try, to ignore shouts of “Fire!”
Racism, CAGW, so-called homophobia, these are the subjects which the networks lie about to get more liberal viewers. But of course, the networks are not really liberal — they just want more eyeballs! They want more eyeballs, so do you really think they would neglect to market conservative eyeballs? The networks have a second set of fantasies which are used to catch conservative eyeballs. The fantasies are just as false, just as crazy as the ones used for liberals — but these fantasies are designed to snare conservatives. World terrorism, Islamophobia, drug wars…do you really think that ABC lies about racism and CAGW but suddenly becomes honest when they tell you about a purported underwear bomber, about some drug dealings in South America or about some unknown Muslim cleric making a speech in Pakistan?
We are being lied to. We are being lied to by masters of the art — but it is not just lies about racism and CAGW.
Oh! One more thing… The post above was a sort of general shout, not direct to you, Steven, specifically, but this post really is to you.

I have found your blog to be one of the most thought provoking, infuriating (though not at you!), and amusing places on the web. Not that you need pay attention to my personal feelings about it, but in my opinion you have a 98% “Yeah, Buddy!” rating. The few times when I do disagree with you, you still make cogent and articulate points, and I have to at least pay close attention to your reasons.

unfortunately, the Media really are Uber Liberal. It isn’t just about selling. Many are worse than so called “Democrats” at the national level. They really do have an anti-conservative agenda. Google Journolist, or watch Glenn Beck’s videos on Media Matters.
ABC News has done a better job of covering the story than the other broadcast networks. I fault the police and prosecutor for selectively leaking deceptive information and writing a false affidavit (lies of omission). ABC then broke the story about the bloody photo shown above, which the police had all along.
NBC, however, has zero credibility.
It’s less about news and more about sensationalism. Or the latest nonsense about the latest celebrity nonentity. Or acts of racism and homophobic bullying, even if they took place 50 years ago.

It should be noted that the apartment complex that Trayvon Martin attacked Zimmerman was one that he neither lived nor was familiar. Trayvon was staying with his father instead of his because he was suspended from school because he was found by school security with burglary tools and empty marijuana bags.
The message from all this is that if you try to kill someone by pounding their head against the sidewalk, bad things will happen to you. No doubt Obama and Sharpton will take this message to the streets.
