Is There Any Lie Obama Won’t Say To Get Elected?

In 2008, when Obama was pretending to be a Christian, he implied that God was against same-sex marriage.

When asked to specifically define his views on marriage, Obama stated that he believes “that marriage is the union between a man and a woman.” “Now, for me as a Christian, it’s also a sacred union. God’s in the mix,” he added.

Obama is a criminal psychopath, and Romney isn’t any better. The only candidate with any honor, integrity and commitment to the U.S. Constitution is Ron Paul. He’ be in Tampa in August with all his delegates. It ain’t over yet.

  2. suyts says:

Lol, very poor political move. The voters in North Carolina are probably a bit miffed about this.

  3. Wyguy says:

It’s all about the money, he needed the gay contrabutions!

  4. Andy DC says:

At least you have to say that Obama is not being meek and cowardly like Jimmy Carter. He is showing leadership, even if it is off a cliff!

  5. John B., M.D. says:

In 1996, Obama was pro-gay marriage.

To me, this is just a distraction away from the economy.

I don’t mind civil unions so that same-sex spouses can share pension and Soc Sec benefits upon death of one, hospital visitation (although I am unaware of visitation ever being denied in my career). I like that Obama said this was a states’ rights issue. But his motivations are not to show leadership but to half-heartedly appease the GLBT crowd.

    • So he lied to get elected. Not a small matter.

      • John B., M.D. says:

        Other lies/flip-flops:
        public financing of elections
if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor
if you like your health ins plan you can keep it
greedy doctors would rather remove tonsils or amputate limbs rather than rx a “pill”
        health ins mandate
        Gitmo
        military tribunals
        Patriot Act
President taking military action without Congressional approval
        anti-ballistic missile defense
        lobbyists in the White House
        SuperPACs
unemployment will stay under 8% with the stimulus
        raising the debt ceiling
        uniter not a divider

      • Brian says:

Yep. He lied no matter how you look at it. He didn’t need to be Pro Gay Marriage in 2008… But it’s a card he has to pull now to try and lure in the Democratic youth, because as I’ve been telling you guys since I’ve been here, he has been losing that fan base.

    • Brian says:

Btw, I’m pro-gay marriage. Many of the people against it to “preserve marriage” end up with multiple divorces themselves. Like Newt Gingrich.

      • miked1947 says:

With Gay marriage they want to define gender by mental qualities rather than physical qualities. The are just redefining what a man is and what a woman is based on their mental state of mind.
Civil unions should be what they are trying to get approved. That would benefit more if they were easier to dissolve than marriages and they were entered into with enforceable prenuptial agreements, Civil Contracts. Of course most civil contracts are not worth the paper they are written on, especially those in digital form.

      • Andy DC says:

Maybe “civil unions” or something similar could have accomplished the same goals and not been as offensive to people who view marriage as a heterosexual, religious institution? Less likely to promote a backlash?

    • Andy DC says:

What you can be denied is communication with doctors and nurses regarding the significant other’s condition and also denied participation in important medical decisions.

      • John B., M.D. says:

Speaking for myself, that has never been an issue for me, even given that I’ve worked in a lot of Catholic Hospitals. Never had a case or witnessed a case. I cannot speak for other docs or hospitals in other parts of the country. I would support civil unions where rights are equal, though I’m no lawyer.

  6. Robert of Ottawa says:

Yes but previously he was for it before he was against the thing he is now for again.

  7. Robert of Ottawa says:

The Obama really isn’t engaged in politics, and he certainly doesn’t care for it. He disdains people and their petty needs; after all, he has had everything given to him on a platter. Yes he WAS born with a silver spoon in his mouth. I think he sees politics as a vehicle for his ego to … what? …masturbate itself? I’m not actually sure; perhaps President of the World.or Master of the Universe. It must certainly be gratifying to be President of the US of A and be adulated by fans, but do not dare ask ME to do anything; I am so refined and articulate; my role is President. He is an actor in his own fantasy. Does he actually really exist, or is he some post-modern Big Brother? Has any student of rhetoric yet noticed how repetetive and vacuous his speeches are, except when he’s trying to whip up class jealousy.

    Speaking of crimatology ….

  8. slimething says:

Why stop at “gay” marriage? Marry your sister or brother for SS benefits, health insurance etc. Surely if they “love” each other that’s all that matters.
Hell, just open the floodgates and slide all the way down; no sense in taking baby steps.

  9. Wayne Ward (truthsword) says:

Or maybe even a senator could marry a horse, it’s not like that has happened in an out of control immoral society before…. oh wait…

  10. Wayne Ward (truthsword) says:

And yes, there is a lie Obama won’t tell to get elected, and it is… “Why yes, I do well without a teleprompter…”

  11. Espen says:

I don’t think we should demand that politicians don’t change their minds, in fact for many readers of this blog there’s probably a very strong wish that they change their view of the Church Of Warming.

And who says it’s un-christian about supporting same sex marriage? If people really started taking every text of the old testament that literally, each attempt to keep supermarkets open on sundays would end in a blood bath 😉

  12. Lazarus says:

    What 2008 campaign promise?

  13. Lazarus says:

So you don’t actually have any evidence of an election pledge from 2008 that is now broken by what Obama has said.

    • He implied that God was against gay marriage. Are you a complete moron, or just pretending to be?

      • Lazarus says:

So you are admitting that you were wrong about ‘breaking his 2008 campaign promise.’

Or do you mean his ‘implied’ (to suit your straw man) election promise?

      • Lazarus says:

Too embarrassed to admit you are wrong? If you don’t believe you are, prove me wrong by quoting an election pledge from 2008 about marriage and how it is now broken.

      • Any sane person would interpret a religious statement of opposition to gay marriage as an incontrovertible statement of belief and intent. Only a left wing loon would waste anyone’s time arguing that.

      • Lazarus says:

But only a common or garden loon would think it a ‘pledge’ of some implied kind and build a whole post and straw man on it so they could knock it down and feel good about themselves.

    • John B., M.D. says:

Refer to my comment above at 6:41 p.m. 5-10-12 for a partial list of broken election pledges.
And, he promised he would cut the Federal deficit in half.
He did keep his promise that the sea level would fall, though. I will give him full credit for this.

    • Robert of Ottawa says:

Listen up tiresome Lazarus, Obama announced in the 1990’s, when he was running for State Senate, that he was in favor of gay marriage; he denied that fact when he ran for US President in 2008; he lied before he un-lied. Do you now understand? This guy doesn’t give a s**t about anything but his own ego; even the US of A. Got that?

      • Lazarus says:

        Yawn.

      • Me says:

That was what we always expected from you Lazararse septicface. And you never falter with that assclown view!

      • Lazarus says:

Nowt wrong with being sceptical. You should try it some time.
BTW Johns video shows right from the onset that Obama was always in favour of gay couples having the same rights under law as married couples through civil partnerships. He made it clear he had no objections to those partnerships being called marriage.

      • Me says:

What ever ya say thar Lazararse septicface, the ultimate septic!

  14. Latitude says:

“Obama’s admission of the obvious fact he’d previously denied — his support for same-sex marriage — is now being ballyhooed as proof of his great political courage. Really? As Brit Hume pointed out yesterday on “Fox News Sunday,” Obama’s position on gay marriage didn’t evolve: it revolved. In 1996, Obama said he was for it. In the 2008 campaign, he said he opposed it but also opposed the California referendum banning it. In office, his Department of Justice has refused to defend the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act, which defined marriage — as Obama did in 2008 — as a union of a man and a woman. Now he says he supports gay marriage.”
