Bill McKibben is convinced that he sees terrifying trends, but the data says that he is just imagining things. Some years are wet, some years are dry, but there are no trends evident.
The only thing obvious from the graph below is that the 1930s and the 1950s were very dry. We are fortunate that the climate is so much better now than it was in the 1930s.

Alarmist trends typically range from one data point, up to a time series of no more than 40 years. For alarmists, time simply did not exist before 1970.
I wonder if there is any quality global data on droughts and floods like this.
Do the alarmists ever quote actual data on catastrophes?
“Do the alarmists ever quote actual data on catastrophes?”
Only recent “catastrophes”.
If you ask or tell them about historical data that embarrasses them, such as that posted in this article, they either censor you, ignore you, or brand you a “denier”. Irony, much?

It must have been terrible. He came back alive, but insane.
But droughts and floods did not used to happen at the same time until recently. It used to be that floods would break a drought. Not any more. Floods during a drought simply proves the existence of Global Weirding.
The found a new Al-Gore-Rhythm that allows flood-drought to exist.
The same guy that claimed a weakening Irene was a sign of global warming. Could be as clueless on east coast hurricane climo as.. oh wait a minute I forgot about Heidi Cullens Irene remarks.
