Starting fifty years ago, nearly every American spent the decade glued to our televisions. We were watching NASA prepare to send a man to the moon. The astronauts’ names were as familiar as those of our best friends.
The country was devastated when Grissom, White and Chaffee died on the ground, and our proudest moment of the last 50 years, was July 20, 1969. (Actually July 21st for me. I was living in England at the time.)
A few weeks ago, fifty NASA heroes cried out for help. They saw NASA being destroyed by a group of corrupt, incompetent lunatics – and wrote a letter airing their grievances.
This should have been the scandal of the decade, and should have brought an end to James Hansen’s reign of terror, but the press simply chose to bury it.
There is no honor any more. Even the creepy occupant of the White House is trying to take credit for the work of Navy Seals in Pakistan. Fifty years ago he probably would have been forced to resign over such a dishonorable act.
How do we get rid of the scum who have taken over our government and our press corps(e)?
Those comments from the NASA people were to little to late. They have known about this charade for many years but kept quiet for the sake of their organization and the so called “Science”. They were part of the cause of our current situation because they did not speak up earlier.
Several of them have been speaking up for decades, like Walter Cunningham and Harrison Schmidt.
Most reporters today are lazy and uninquisitive, Moreover, those covering the environment and climate-related topics have bought into the global warming hype. For them to admit their errors and join the ranks of the skeptics (while risking peer ostracism and possible job loss) would require a leap of intellectual honesty — something in short supply among today’s glorified stenographers.
How do you get rid of them? Well, don’t go to a Professor of Public Ethics.

I’m not sure about the press, but I’ve been suggesting some of us do a banner ad campaign against Obama. The banner ads would link just to a collection of links, and a solicitation for a donation. So it would be easy. It is the banner ad visual itself (not its link) that would be key. A series of negative visuals and short negative headlines could do a lot in competing with television for effectiveness, a different and very cheap angle. All you need is a grand to start, and with the proper approach, it could be self-funding as viewers will click and give $.
Stevengoddard,
We probably should eliminate the word “blame” from our dictionary if we are going to undo damages caused by decades of deceit before culminating in Climategate in Nov 2009.
Use: “They are not at fault, they seem to have been born with flaws like the rest of us.”
That is the approach I proposed in this summary of the problem and a possible solution.

I personally knew many NASA scientists. They did not speak out publicly, but many of them quietly encouraged me to do so. I did – not because I was any better that anyone else – but because I became darn mad at the world within the first few years of life.
Belatedly I concluded that the seeds of Climategate sprouted on 6 Aug 1945 when I was almost 9 years old, became evident in the emails and documents released in Nov 2009 (when I was 73 years old), and were confirmed as a major international scandal since then by the responses of world leaders, publishers and leaders of the scientific community to obvious manipulation of information obtained with government funds:
Reacting in fear to the “nuclear fires” that consumed Hiroshima on 6 Aug 1945, world leaders sought to save the world and themselves from nuclear annihilation by acting to:
a.) Unite Nations
b.) Control Humans like domesticated animals
c.) Hide Information on the energy that creates elements, sustains and destroys life !
“One day in August 1945, while standing in the ruins of Hiroshima, I became overwhelmed by the power of nuclear energy” [1].
“The sight before my eyes was just like the end of the world, but I also felt that the beginning of the world may have been just like this” [1].
Astronomy, astrophysics, climatology, cosmology, nuclear, particle, planetary, solar and space physics have been plagued by consensus models of reality since 1946, when Fred Hoyle and the Royal Astronomical Society led these fields astray with two landmark papers [2,3] that very effectively hid the primary source of energy that destroys, creates and sustains life.
Prior to the end of the Second World War, Fred Hoyle, Sir Author Eddington and leaders of astronomy and solar physics in the West “believed that the sun was made mostly of iron” [4].
I essentially spent my research career showing that Professors Paul Kuroda [1], Fred Hoyle and Arthur Eddington [4] were right [5], . . . before Fred Hoyle’s 1946 models of the internal composition of stars [2] and the synthesis of elements from hydrogen [3] were proposed.

These comments would apply in Australia just as well as they do in the United States!
Voters here are sharpening their knives up for the election next year. It cannot come soon enough.
We can start by supporting The Senate Conservatives Fund. Run by Jim DeMint, this Political Action Committee has been instrumental in cleaning the Rinos out of the GOP in the last election, and in the Primaries for 2012. They seek to choose truly conservative candidates, knock out the incumbent Rino, then press the conservative thru to election. They have been quite successful. They were instrumental in the defeat of Dick Lugar. They have a handful of candidates they are supporting this cycle.

When the great men who stepped into space denounce the very organization they worked for, you know that something is wrong. Even the Russians trash AGW. I’m sure they are laughing at the gullibility of NASA now…
And we have dreams of going into space…how can we do that, when there are no space programs or respected scientists to do it?
