The term “the Obama Phone” has been all around since the day Barack Obama became the president of the United States of America. Many people think that Obama is giving free cellphones to the poor in order to redistribute the wealth of rich people. Since then two groups are mudslinging at each other. It’s true that government provides free cellphones to the poor and disabled people.
But the Obama part is not true as Obama didn’t initiate this program. It’s on the run since the administration of Reagan. This program has two parts: one is called the ‘Link-Up’ which provided free landline connection to the poor and the other is called the ‘Lifeline’ which provides waiver on telephone bills. These two programs are simply called ‘Lifeline’ when lumped together.
Obama splatters his name every fourth word on the website (which also bears his name) then admits that the Obama part is not true. He is running a campaign program using taxpayer money, lying about it, and taking credit for Reagan’s accomplishments.
When you elect a third world banana republic dictator, that is exactly what you get.

Obama and Carter have commonly be compared. Except for ineptitude on economic issues there is little comparison. Carter more or less took his failures as a man. You could see the sense of sadness and shame on his face. Obama instead is blaming his failures on others and playing the role of an upbeat slick politician like a drum. He is on the attack as a Santa Claus give away man, rather than playing defense.
If Obama gets 95% of the black vote, 95% of the gay vote and 70% of the Hispanic vote, he is still going to be tough to beat. Not to mention scaring the seniors.
I agree. Carter was spectacularly stupid, but generally honest – at least while he was president. Obama is a common criminal.
No matter who started it the program should be stopped.

While I agree that taxpayers should not be forced to pay for this program via a federal charge on their phone bill, the website is not run by or administered by the federal government or the Obama administration. The website simply forwards you to the http://www.freegovernmentcellphones.net website which directs you to contact a wireless company in your state. It’s just like the hundreds of ‘free credit report’ websites out there.
