Our friends have been telling us that Pikas die after 20 minutes of 60 degree temperatures.
The hockey team and Peter Gleick are very honorable people, so we can safely assume that all Pikas in Colorado are now dead. RIP Pikas.

Here in Northwest Oregon , we are having a slightly cooler than normal spring although nothing like the destructively cool and wet spring we had last year. Still it has been wet enough that the cherry crop quality has been diminished due to cracking from the rain, but that is life in NW Oregon. We get a lot of moisture and the state is more beautiful because of it. The peach crop is progressing nicely and some of the plums look to be heavy so all in all so far so good.
Say , I forgot to ask , are Pikas good to eat? I have not bought meat from an outside source in so many years I don’t eaven know what the prices are. My wife and I , being good hunters , fill our freezers with wild game every year , and between that and the birds and animals we raise we are blessed with an abundance , for which we thank a loving God. A lot of those small animals are very tasty roasted so I wonder about Pikas , taste like chicken ?

I think Pika is in the rabbit family, so it should taste like rabbit, which kinda tastes like chicken.
Having visited Pika elevations in the height of summer in the Colorado Rockies during my vacations for the last 10 years straight, I can assure our AGW friends with firsthand experience that Pikas chirp their li’l hearts out for hours on end in the midday sun when it is well over 70°.
Oh, but wait, I’ve never had a paper published in a peer-reviewed science journal. Nevermind……
