Suppose that a CEO was unhappy with a 70 year downward trend in his company’s revenues, so he told his accountants to develop a new accounting method which shows an increase. Then he erased the original raw data from the company website, and presented the new graphs without mention of the change in accounting practices. Chances are that law enforcement would be hauling him away in the not too distant future.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

keep the proof!
Has Hansen ever made a cold biased adjustment? If I were him, I would do it maybe one time in 10 to at least give some appearance of objectivity. Maybe Hansen is so arrogant, he doesn’t care about an appearance of objectivity.
What you are describing is the accounting system used by our federal government and Hansen is using the same approach. For example, not creating enough jobs by traditional measures? Then create a new accounting method using “jobs saved”. Don’t want the public to know that your health care bill will cost them billions while reducing benefits? Change the accounting and only count 7 years of costs while collecting 10 years of revenue and thus make the program look as if it will save the public money over ten years. It has been proven that when people substitute hope and change for rational thought, this type of accounting is preferred.
Hey Sundance, you are correct in your assessment. It is appalling that America has sunk so low intellectialy as to accept what the Hansens and Jones and Manns are saying. That these third rate technicians are fooling so many people is absurd. Of course, they have the help of a corrupt press corp that thinks lieing is the way to go.
